Wood as Disposables
Wooden cutlery can biodegrade naturally but we have the same set of issues relating to the sources from which such wood is derived from, see FSC. Trees are the last line of defence against our rising carbon dioxide levels and its imperative trees are cut down only when it can be used for a product with a good lifespan, such as a chair or bedframe and not for disposables which last only for mere seconds after usage. We should not be using wood for disposables. A good article to encapsulate this can be read here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkobayashisolomon/2020/06/22/one-trillion-trees-is-not-enough/?sh=1c7694532747
